Hyperbaric IV Ozone Therapy

The term ozone therapy is very broad. It ranges from either systemic or regional administration of gaseous oxygen/ozone mixtures to the topical application of stable ozonated derivatives. Ozone therapy is primarily administered either by mixing blood with ozone or pushing ozone into a body cavity, such as the ears, vagina, or colon. Ozone can also be injected to treat injuries and pain, such as slipped discs, torn ligaments and arthritis.

HYPERBARIC IV OZONE THERAPY IS A REMARKABLE TREATMENT THAT LEAVES YOU FEELING REPLENISHED, RESTORED, AND REJUVENATED.

Prozone Health: Leading Ozone Therapy Clinic in Chichester

The most beneficial form of ozone therapy is Major Autohemotherapy where there is simple contact of a medical oxygen/ozone mixture with a biological liquid – in this case blood. When ozone impacts a biological matrix, both reactive oxygen species (ROS) and lipid oxidation products (LOPs) are formed. Between 1990 and today many studies have been undertaken by Professor Bocci (Italy) and other researches which have elucidated the biochemical, immunological, and molecular mechanisms of action of non toxic ozone therapy. (View here).

When ozone is dissolved in the blood it immediately reacts with either ions or biomolecules, among which polyunsaturated fatty acids, proteins, carbohydrates and possibly RNA and DNA (View here). Hydrogen peroxide, as ROS, is a natural oxidant and it freely diffuses into all the blood cells, eliciting a significant number of biochemical reactions. The ROS biology in blood after ozonation is a very complex phenomenon and could be of vital importance to human health issues. The process of ozonating blood not only activates blood cells but also allows the transport of 4-HNE all over the body, particularly the heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, and hypothalamus. 4-HNE is vital in inducing antioxidant defence mechanisms and in enhancing cellular protection. 4-HNE is a proven modulator for major internal/cellular processes such as autophagy, proliferation and apoptosis.

To sum up, hyperbaric IV ozone therapy is based upon activation of the blood using ozone and implements the minimal stress necessary to stimulate the bodies’ reaction in upregulating the natural antioxidant system.

How is hyperbaric IV ozone administered?

Hyperbaric IV ozone therapy is a treatment that involves cannulation, drawing the patient’s blood and re-administering it back into the patient after contact with an appropriate dose of a gaseous mixture of oxygen-ozone under clearly defined conditions.

At Prozone Health we use the market-leading medical grade Herrmann Medozon Comfort which generates a gentle vacuum in the chamber to allow up to 150ml of blood to be drawn from the patient. Once the blood is infused with Medical Grade Ozone it is reintroduced to the patient. We repeat this process 10 times in one sitting, which means in one appointment we aim to activate up to 1.5 litres of blood with ozone. This is known as a 10 pass. Depending on patient blood flow, the 10 pass process takes between 35 and 60 minutes.

Blood before and after ozone therapy

The inventor and pioneer of the 10 pass treatment is Dr Lahodny of Austria who as well as being a GP is a specialist gynaecologist, expert in bio-resonance and dark field microscopy. Dr Lahody states “with Ozone Oxygen High Dose Therapy I have discovered a treatment possibility, which often achieves improvement in hopeless cases.”

Our practitioners follow Dr Lahodny’s protocol to advise you on how many IV ozone sessions you may need to target specific conditions. For example, for Lyme’s Disease Dr Lahodny recommends eight to twelve 10 pass ozone treatments.

For preventative care and natural anti-aging, we recommend treating the majority of blood in the body (on average between 4-7 litres). The more blood that is treated, the greater the effects as more activated blood cells are going through the entire body. This is done over a course of treatments to not induce a herxheimer reaction which can cause discomfort.

For more serious illnesses and for peak athletic performers, it is possible to perform more passes at one appointment (20-30 passes). Please inquire directly for these treatments.

One of the most promising aspects of ozone therapy is the activation of stem cells. Dr Lahodby dedicated two decades of research to cultivating stem cells. For real progress in medicine, it is imperative to focus on using the body’s own stem cells to heal itself. Stem cells even have the ability to form new organs. Prior to ozone, cultivating stem cells was only possible out of bone marrow, finger pulp and fatty tissue. This process often comes with a price tag of thousands of pounds.

How does ozone work biochemically?

Inactivates bacteria, viruses, fungi, yeast and parasites – ozone disrupts the bacterial cell envelope through oxidation of the phospholipids and lipoproteins. In viruses, ozone is claimed to damage the viral capsid and upset the reproductive cycle by disrupting the virus-to-cell contact with peroxidation.
Increases circulation – in circulatory disease, the clumping of red blood cells hinders blood flow through small capillaries and decreases oxygen absorption. Ozone reduces clumping and restores red cell flexibility. Ozone oxidises the plaque in arteries unclogging the blood vessels.
Stimulates Oxygen metabolism – ozone increases red blood cell glycolysis rate. It stimulates 2,3-diphosphoglycerate which increases the amount of oxygen released to tissues. Ozone activates the Krebs cycle and induces the production of enzymes that act as free radical scavengers and cell wall protectors.
Inhibits tumour metabolism – ozone oxidises the outer lipid layer of malignant cells and destroys them through cell breakdown. Ozone stimulates the phagocytes which kill bacteria and viruses.
Activates the immune system – ozone stimulates the production of cytokines including interferon, tumour necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin 2. TNF is one of our proteins capable of causing death to tumour cells and possesses pro-inflammatory actions. Interleukin 2 regulates white blood cells which are responsible for immunity.

Ozone performs these functions through ionisation, subatomic exchange (oxidation), electron/free radical reactions, and electromagnetic reactions resulting in profuse photon and energy transfer.

More simply, because ozone is an oxygen molecule without an electron it is attracted to electron-rich microorganisms. After it strips away the organisms’ electrons, the cause of the disease dies.

Ozone therapy is remarkable as it works from the inside out and outside in with a two-fold mechanism to alleviate skin complaints whilst activating optimal cellular oxygenation.

It must be noted that no treatment is a miracle cure-all that many “ozone champions” claim ozone therapy to be across the world. Treatment results vary person-to-person and your body must be suitably prepped and primed for ozone therapy. For the best experience, we recommend a gentle detox programme before ozone therapy to open pathways, this includes parasite cleanses, colonics and drainage massages.

How does ozone therapy work on viral infections?

We hear a lot of talk about how to kill a virus. You cannot kill something that is not alive, a virus cannot make energy, it cannot make oxygen, it is a piece of inert material. What a virus can do is be introduced into cells and use the genetic material in cells to replicate itself.

A virus needs your cells, your generic material, your energy (ATP) to replicate itself.

If a cell is infected it becomes a viral factory. You can deactivate the free virus but the way we actually get over a viral infection is by killing the infected cells. You need a way of killing the cells that are infected without killing the cells that aren’t.

So how do you do that?

By up-regulating certain cytokines that activate the innate immune system (the TH1 immune system) which activates natural killer cells. Antibodies themselves can kill the virus but you need to kill the viral factories. Therefore, you need to have something that will stimulate the innate immune system which ozone therapy does extremely well.

Science and safety

Ozone Therapy is establishing itself as the ‘go to’ complementary therapy for a variety of diseases and injuries.

While ozone is harmful to the lungs, scientists have concluded that ozone therapy can be safely administered to other parts of the body, such as blood (View here).

Ozone will irritate the lungs if breathed in large quantities. This is because there is no antioxidant system in the lungs which makes them vulnerable to oxidants like ozone (View here).

Ozone can be safely applied in other parts of the body because they have an antioxidant system. This system, found in most parts of the body, defends against the potential for ozone to cause harm.

According to data by the International Scientific Committee of Ozone Therapy, only 6 out of 100,000 ozone therapy sessions have a negative side effect, a higher safety record than aspirin. This organisation attributes most of the negative side effects to practitioner misuse and improper protocols.
